Once a Sears department store and now a community tech hub, The Ion is a fitting home for this vibrant restaurant. Cool shades of teal, couches colored burnt orange and plenty of light streaming in through the windows make for an airy stage for this eclectic menu by chefs Chris Williams and Sergio Hidalgo. The cooking is unique, offering a blend of American, Mexican and African flavors driven by the seasons. Order from the small menu or opt for the appropriately named "surprise tasting" with items like tuna aguachile, seafood consommé and an elegant duck confit pozole. Like the food, the service is honest and welcoming, and much of the produce comes from Fort Bend County, where the group’s philanthropic arm runs a 10-acre farm.
