In a cosy and comfortable setting, a mix of oval and square tables contribute to a very Parisian, retro-style decor. Old engravings on the walls reference Rabelais – a nod to the restaurant's name. Former sous-chef at L'Arcane (18th arrondissement), Tomoyuki Uchida embraces French culinary tradition with style in a personal, vibrant and unfettered interpretation of its cuisine. His attention to detail and well-balanced dishes set the tone: confit veal tongue marinated in shio koji, served with Romanesco broccoli and tonnato sauce; trout with sorrel and petits pois à la française. And the "divine bottle" is never far away.
