A welcoming mountain hotel with a focus on sustainability is the setting for this bright and lively restaurant which, at lunchtime, serves local traditional dishes inspired by the recipes of Marija Plesnika, who cooked here in the 1940s. In the evening, on the other hand, guests are served a tasting menu which is available only by booking ahead for anyone not staying at the hotel. In the kitchen, experienced Janez Bratovž, renowned for his work at the JB Restavracija in Ljubljana, is here in an advisory role, while the talented young Tom Čopar who has experience both in Slovenia and abroad is the resident chef. We particularly enjoyed the Štruklji (dumplings) filled with cheese and lovage (the latter is sourced from the hotel’s own garden).
