Le Quercy blanc
Der Grüne Reiseführer
Bewertung des Guide Michelin
Situated between the Lot valley and the Tarn valley, Quercy Blanc owes the first part of its name to the Cadourques – a Gaulish tribe – and the "white" part to its chalky soil, formed of lacustrine limestone. Innumerable streams cut into the low plateaux, the houses are built of limestone rubble, the almost flat roofs are covered with pale pink tiles: Quercy Blanc can be imagined on the banks of the Garonne. Mills, Romanesque churches and fortified houses stand in the midst of a variety of crops farmed on this fertile land.
