Although it is now home to a welcoming and contemporary family restaurant, until two generations ago this building was used as a place to rest horses and provide hospitality to workers from the sugar factory opposite. Run by siblings (the charming sister Daniela is front of house, while her brother Piergiorgio and his wife are in the kitchen), the restaurant serves delicate and creative regional cuisine on 6- and 10-course tasting menus with a focus on fish. Technical expertise and different types of preparation are the order of the day, including marinating, toasting rice, fermenting, home-made vinegars and aromatic herbs, resulting in a truly modern style but with a warm and generous soul. Daniela will recommend the best wine pairing from a well-structured wine list that includes personally selected labels.
