The Renaissance Château de l'Islette was built by the same workers as the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, its twin brother. In the 19C, its filled-in moat and truncated roofs seduced the sculptors Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin, who set up both their studio and their home there. Today, the authenticity of the rooms of this family-owned castle, as well as its lovely grounds and mill, make this estate a haven of peace and beauty.
